March 6 in Sydney

Today we took a walking tour from Hyde Park to The Rocks. Along the way we were heckled by a plane spelling bad things. I'm sure the words were not directed at Karla but I gave the pilot the traffic finger and made him feel really bad anyway. 38 degrees today and not a cloud in the sky.

Later at the Rocks we sat and contemplated for a while about the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can walk over the top of the structure, tethered by a safety rope, for which they charge you about $328. I think you can do it for free as well but the rope is old and generally less competent. Either way this looks like one of those "delete me from the gene pool" activities. If you can zoom in to the top of the bridge's arch you can see tiny silhouettes of quite a few tourists tempting their fate. I hear the view from up there is fantastic but you can buy a postcard of that view for about $0.50. Just saying...

We are currently working on our trip to Australia for the fall and have the flights booked and are now starting on places to stay; we are starting in Melbourne and then will drive back to Sydney and up to Brisbane and return home from there. Looking forward to following your adventures as long as you don't give me the finger.
I walked the top of the bridge when I was there in 2006. $50. Very cool experience but not $328 worth!
Love the blog and looking forward to touring Australia with you both.
